Discovery Channel’s Shark Week reminds us that there are two kinds of people (ok well, maybe for just this purpose): those who can’t stand to look at sharks for fear of attack through the television screen (maybe you would prefer the sharks from Finding Nemo, or even Shaq Week), and those who can’t take their eyes off them for shear fascination. If you and the kids are in the latter group, then join the frenzy at SEA LIFE Aquarium in Grapevine for Sharks After Dark on August 17, part of the aquarium’s own week-long ode to the mysterious creatures.
From 8–11pm, take an educational tour through the aquarium’s 360º Ocean Tunnel and behind-the-scenes, watch shark videos in the SEA LIFE cinema, and enjoy snacks, win prizes and listen to live music in the Rock Pool area. Sharks After Dark is recommended for kids 8 and older, and admission is $25 at the door, $20 online and $5 for annual pass holders.
