Sci-Tech Story Time
Frisco’s home of “mind-stretching fun,” Sci-Tech Discovery Center, will host a “parts party” for kids ages two and older at 10:30am. Educators teach the preschoolers new skills and science concepts through stories, songs and hands-on activities, which include making a keepsake they can take home. Admission is $7 for ages 3 and older.
Black Wings exhibit at C.R. Smith Museum
Celebrate Black History Month with a tour through the flight museum’s current exhibit, called Black Wings, from the Smithsonian Institution that commemorates African Americans’ contributions in flight and space exploration, such as the Tuskegee Airmen who flew during World War II; Bessie Coleman, the first African-American woman to earn a pilot’s license; and Guy Bluford, the first African-American in space. The museum is open Tuesday from 9am–5pm, and admission is $7 for adults and $4 for ages 2 and older. Black Wings will be on view through March 2.
Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Party
Area libraries are gearing up to celebrate what would be the 109th birthday for one dear children’s book author, Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. North Branch Library in Denton will be hosting a party on Tuesday starting at 4pm and lasting until midnight. Kids ages 6 and older are invited to the free program for games, activities, crafts and birthday cake to celebrate the author who will remain, in a way, forever young.
