Have a seat inside the C3 Theater for stories and songs based on works in the museum’s collection and join in the Every Child Ready to Read mini-workshop. Head to the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth for a free program for preschoolers that blends art and reading. The kids will listen to a reading of A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip C. Stead and enjoy simple art activities from 10:30–11:15am. Registration is required. While you’re there, take a stroll through the new art exhibit Bernini – Sculpting in Clay.
And parents, celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early with Opera Shots at the Cuban nightclub Embargo. On from 6:30–8:30 the Fort Worth Opera studio artists will perform arias and duets from Puccini’s romantic opera La Bohème and more love songs from opera favorites. The restaurant will offer opera-themed cocktails such as “Puccini-tini,” “Mimì’s Mojito,” “Rodolfo’s Rum” or “Big O shot.” Registration is open online.
