Dallas…once known for the glitz and gaud of the 80s, a fictional famous family, the Ewings (I can’t tell you how many times I heard the line, “Who shot JR?” in London after meeting a Brit and exchanging the usual bar banter), and the Dallas Cowboys, now is undergoing a transformation.
W Magazine decided to let the world in on a little secret that even some Dallasites aren’t privy to…Dallas is a bona-fide cultural epicenter of the South. If you haven’t seen our June 2010 issue of all three magazines (DallasChild, FortWorthChild and NorthTexasChild), we clued you into that secret by shooting the covers at the Winspear Opera House’s pond overlooking the Wyly Theater – both new architectual icons of Big D. Not only is it a huge cultural plus for adults, but also for kids and families. With everything from Beauty and the Beast at the Winspear, Late Nights at the DMA or spending a Saturday afternoon at the Nasher with your kids…there is no shortage of inspiring art to see, hear and experience.
