Burgers of La La Land
When it comes to burgers, I am usually a traditional girl. My favorite components are the meat, cheese and the bun. So, when my brother told me about LA Burger, a new place that opened up in Valley Ranch that puts kimchi in their burgers, I was quite perplexed and even slightly skeptical.
Immediately upon entering through the door, you feel as if you are in LA with the SoCal-style music playing in the background and the words “Discover the Los Angeles food scene” painted on the wall. One of the owners, Ben Lee, greeted us and was able to suggest some menu items including the LA Burger, which includes an Angus patty, sauteed Korean spicy cabbage, teriyaki sauce, jalapeños, cheese and a fried egg.
Upon the initial bite, you are able to taste the fusion of flavors and have a burger experience like no other. (Ben told us they are the first in the Dallas area to offer a kimchi burger.) To accompany your entree, order the off-the-menu K-Town Fries (fries topped with onion, cilantro, kimchi and other delicious ingredients).
Not in a burger and fries kind of mood? The restaurant also offers Asian tacos and hogi’s (hoagies), salads and cheese steak.
Warning: This is a great spot for a no-frills date night, but get ready to get a little messy and indulge LA-style!
